We live in Northeast Wyoming, close to both of our family roots. Dave manages a Grazing Association, so there is a lot of riding during the summer months checking on cattle. This is Susan’s last year of teaching, and she is looking forward to being home more! Our kids, Curtis and Raelee attend virtual school, so they are able to help out, and spend a lot of hours horseback with us. We have a unique opportunity of having a lot of different kinds of land to ride on; from rolling sagebrush hills, to rough timber hills. Our mares winter out, and know how to survive and take care of themselves.

We have based our program off our belief that a true ranch horse can do anything, and are continually working towards meeting this goal. We started or program with the help of Mr Royal Blake, a double bred Cutter Bill Stallion. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our old man this summer, but his legacy in our program will live on through his daughters. To add to our program, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to own Boonylensma, bred, raised, and trained by Leo and Jo Woodbury. ‘Boony’ is an own son of Peptoboonsmal, and out of a daughter of Doc O’Lena, and has over $34,000 in NCHA earnings. We have 4 of his daughters that have been put back into our breeding program, as well as 2 of his offspring that our kids ride. Before Boony came into our life, we knew Royal wasn’t going to last forever, so we found a baby we really liked, and hoped that we would make a stud prospect; Shield Five Ole Cat, a grandson of High Brow Cat and Boon San Lena. ‘Ole’ fulfilled our hopes, and is our 3rd stallion. He has worked well crossing him on daughters of Royal and Boony. Offspring of these 3 have had success in the arena in speed, reining, working cow, and on the ranch.
